Setting Up Sales Channels

Sales channels are how you control the distribution of your inventory. A sales channel defines who can sell your rooms, what commission they earn, and which rate plans are available.

There are three main ways to distribute your property on Wink:

  • Wink Network — Your property is visible to all affiliates on the platform. This is the broadest distribution.
  • Direct channels — You create a private channel for a specific affiliate or partner with a custom commission rate.
  • Your own website — Use shareable links or embedded cards to sell directly from your site with no intermediary.
  1. Go to https://extranet.wink.travel and select your property.
  2. Navigate to the sales channel section.
  3. Click Create a new sales channel.
  4. Give the channel a name (e.g., “Website Direct”, “Partner - Kim Travel”).
  5. Set the commission percentage — how much the affiliate earns per booking.
  6. Select which rate plans are available on this channel.
  7. Optionally restrict to specific room types or inventory.
  8. Click Save.

The Wink Network is the default distribution channel. When activated, your property appears in Studio where any affiliate can find and sell it.

To activate:

  1. Go to your property’s network settings.
  2. Enable Wink Network.
  3. Set a default commission rate for network affiliates.

For affiliates you want to work with closely, create a direct channel with a custom commission.

  1. Find the affiliate through the Network section. See Network.
  2. Create a direct sales channel for that affiliate.
  3. Set a custom commission rate (which may be higher or lower than your network default).
  4. Select which inventory is available on this channel.

This is useful when you want to offer an influencer or travel agent a preferred rate or exclusive access to certain rooms.

Commissions are expressed as a percentage of the booking total. The commission is split among the parties involved:

  • Affiliate commission — What the seller (affiliate, travel agent, influencer) earns.
  • Platform fee — Wink’s processing fee.
  • Property revenue — The remainder goes to you.

You control the affiliate commission. The platform fee is deducted automatically.

Once your channels are live, use Analytics to track which channels drive the most bookings and revenue. This helps you optimize commission rates and decide which partnerships to invest in.
