Wink was created to make selling travel inventory exciting again, and to make it accessible to far more people than the handful of large players who used to control it. These docs walk you through every part of the platform, from creating your first account to going live with a deep API integration. You don’t need to read them in order; head straight to the section that matches what you’re trying to do — and if you already know what you’re after, the AI-powered search field at the top of the page will take you straight to it.

An account on Wink lets you:

Create and manage properties and sell everywhere potential travelers are.
Create and manage affiliate accounts and earn a commission on bookings you facilitate.
Create and manage travel agent accounts and book on behalf of your customers.

What it costs

The vast majority of what Wink offers is free. Listing and managing your property, building your affiliate network, using the booking engine, publishing your WinkLinks page, writing your own social posts, analytics — none of that costs anything, and there is no subscription and no setup fee.

When a booking happens, Wink takes a small percentage to keep the lights on. And a handful of premium features that cost us real money every time you use them — AI-generated social posts, automated replies, high-volume API access — are billed as pay-as-you-go usage fees at rates we think you’ll find very reasonable. Each of those comes with a free monthly allowance, so you can try them before you ever pay anything.

Core concepts

You see one… you’ve seen them all

As you familiarize yourself with all of Wink’s features, there is plenty of overlap in how things work. Understanding the core concepts will give you greater familiarity and more confidence as you work through our features.

Here we go:

Every section usually has a way to list, add, update and remove entries.
When you’re editing an entry, a red asterix * on a form field means it’s required.
If a specific form field is incorrect, you will see a red border around it with red text explaining what the problem is underneath the form field.
You will only be able to Save a form once the form is valid and some changes have been made to it.
Some forms encompass multiple tabs, such as the guest room form.
All tabs need to be valid before you can continue.
A tab containing missing or invalid form data, will display a yellow triangle ⚠️ next to its name.
When submitting a form, most forms will display a Confirmation dialog asking you if you want to continue.
